Dear Darrington Academy: When Sasha was first sent to Darrington, I was very supportive, because I felt she just needed to get away from home – I saw our family and our household (and her friends) as being a large source of the problem… However after really learning about what Darrington has to offer and learning what the Discovery and Focus seminars are about, I am grateful for the opportunities she will be allowed to experience. I love that fact that Darrington’s definition of a successful graduate is someone who is able to have healthy relationships with those around them. I never really understood what it meant to be able to have a truly healthy relationship until going through Discovery/Focus and seeing all the beliefs and behaviors that can get in the way. The fact that Sasha will have the opportunity to address those beliefs and behaviors and interact with others on an honest level is amazing, and I am grateful to Darrington for giving Sasha the tools she’ll need to experience that.
