Academics are an important part of a program for Troubled Teens. Most programs, especially the short term ones do not provide academics as part of their program, while more then often academics is the cause of the problems that the child is having. Kids get behind in school and it wears on their self worth and causes a spiral downwards that can lead to many issues. They start associating with bad peer groups, disrupting class, skipping
school, suspension from school and even being expelled from school. Truancy can lead to even worse problems like drug and alcohol abuse and sexual activity.
Teen Help feels that Academics is a vital part of any Troubled Teen program, therefore all of the schools we represent have full academic programs and most offer diplomas to their students. Our programs are designed to provide the means for students to advance at a faster rate then normal getting them caught up if they are behind. By providing the individual attention they sometimes need we can get to the root of any academic problem kids may face.
With the latest technology integrated into the academic programs, the schools we represent are able to provide students with a cutting edge education that will not hinder the learning process by making students dependent on curriculum. Students can learn at their own pace and the material is scaled to their level so students are never overwhelmed but always challenged. Many things that are provided in our programs like Study Skills, Leadership Training and Goal Setting are not available in a most normal public school settings.
