What is a "Self Monitored Merit" system?

All privileges are acquired by earning points and gaining levels. A "Self Monitored Merit" system is designed to give students an opportunity to manage themselves and take responsibility for their actions. Fewer consequences result when students "Self Correct". This teaches them accountability and is vital to their progress.
